The 2026 academy ran July 19-23 at Planet Bluegrass, the week before RockyGrass, and has finished; the 2027 academy is expected in mid-July, though no dates are posted. A $150 non-refundable deposit reserved a 2026 spot. Free tent camping for attendees; two evening BBQs and morning coffee are included, with lunch from an on-site vendor. Novice through advanced, but no absolute beginners. Also teaches clawhammer banjo, old-time fiddle, songwriting and vocals.
