The 2026 camp ran June 15-19 and has finished; the 2027 camp is expected in mid-June, though no dates are posted. A week of traditional Southwest Virginia music and dance for ages 7 to 13, teaching fiddle, clawhammer banjo, guitar, mandolin, singing and dance at every level, held at the Floyd Event Center on the Floyd EcoVillage. It is a day camp, and standard hours end early afternoon, with an extended day to mid-afternoon for ages 10 and up. The 2026 rate was $320, or $375 with the extended day, and siblings got 10% off. Snacks are provided and extended-day campers bring a packed lunch. The school will lend an instrument if you ask and one is free. Families can book cabins, lodge rooms, RV sites or campsites at the EcoVillage separately.
